Spiritual Gift of the Week
We ask for the grace of generosity and mercy that we may be transformed.
Realizing that there are no boundaries to God’s generosity and mercy,
We ask Mary to intercede on our behalf.

Spiritual Instruction of the Week,
There is no salvation apart from God’s generous mercy!

Dear Beautiful Daughters of Mary,

“There is no salvation apart from God’s mercy.” This was the message given by Dr. Norman McCrummen on Tuesday, during both morning and evening prayer. “God is infinitely merciful,” he told us, and “he longs for us to ask for his mercy. There is no better way to please God than to open our hearts to his mercy.”
Dr. McCrummen presented quotes by St, Faustina and Pope Francis. He concluded his powerful appeal with a guided meditation on the mercy of God, using the words of Pope Francis:
“Jesus calls us all to follow this path: “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful,” (Lk 6:36). I now ask of you one thing. In silence, let’s all think…everyone think of a person with whom we are annoyed, with whom we are angry, someone we do not like. Let us think of that person and in silence, at this moment, let us pray for this person and let us become merciful with this person.”

We are deeply grateful to Dr. McCrummen for his astute mind and sincere heart. His message was delivered with passion and deliberateness, and genuine love. We will draw from it throughout our Lenten journey.
The following are some of the quotes on mercy which Dr. McCrummen recommended to guide our prayer:

Jesus said to Sister Maria Faustina Kowalska (now Saint Faustina) these words:

Regarding sinners who desire mercy:
“Souls perish despite My bitter Passion. I am giving them the hope of salvation…recourse to My mercy…I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls.”
“I pour out an ocean of graces on those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy.”
I desire that priests proclaim this great Mercy of mIne toward sinners. Let the sinner not be afraid to approach Me. the flames of Mercy are burning Me—clamoring to be spent; I want to pour them out upon these souls.”
“Despite My inexhaustible love for souls they do not trust Me. Even My death is not enough for them.”
“Call upon My mercy on behalf of sinners. I desire their salvation.”
“Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My Mercy.”
“Souls that make an appeal to My Mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to My compassion, but on the contrary, I justify him in My unfathomable and inscrutable Mercy.”
Regarding the lukewarm:
“Bring to Me souls who have become lukewarm, and immerse them in the abyss of My Mercy. These souls wound my heart most painfully. My soul suffered in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: ‘Father, take this cup from Me, if it be Your will.’ For them the last hope of salvation is to flee to My mercy.”
Regarding (Faustina) the messenger of mercy:
“My daughter, look into My Merciful Heart and reflect its compassion in your own heart and in your deeds, so that you, who proclaim My Mercy to the world, may yourself be aflame with it.”

“Mercy is the very foundation of the Church’s life,” Pope Francis wrote in his encyclical Misericordiae Vultus. Let us continue to pray for the mercy of God for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for the whole world.

Veni, Spirito Santo, la misericordia di Dio ci salva—
Come Holy Spirit, it is by God’s mercy that we are saved,
Deb
